FoSSNet: the Food Systems Science Network

-
Horizon Europe

FoSSNet is a 4-year Horizon Europe funded project dedicated to establish a long-lasting pan-European network for Food Systems Science, advancing open and inclusive science and education for food systems transformation.

Our approach is transdisciplinary and systemic, integrating a rich diversity of knowledge and perspectives—from biology, nutrition, and engineering to ethnography, sociology, economics, and law. By fostering collaboration between academia, policy makers, industry, and society, we ensure comprehensive and effective solutions for a healthier, fairer, and more sustainable food system.

We will lead Work Package 1 which will:

* develop a conceptual framework for advancing food system transition science, system boundaries and scientific frontiers for use by the network and for describing the EU food system;  and

* develop participatory processes with associated tools to engage a multidisciplinary community and other stakeholders in developing food system transition pathways.
