Roger joined the School of Geography and the Environment in July 2015 and holds a BA in Human Geography and an MSc in Gerontology.

Roger is the Food Systems Programme Manager responsible for supporting a portfolio of research projects The Food Systems Transformation Group is contributing to the University of Oxford’s broad view of food systems by increasing two-way interactions between food security and environmental change.  We look to work with a range of collaborators and funders to develop new food systems research projects.

Roger supports IFSTAL  https://ifstal.web.ox.ac.uk/  IFSTAL is  is the UK's leading food systems course providing an extra-curricular, cross-university, and interdisciplinary education programme that is offered to students from the seven participating higher education institutions and more broadly where arranged.

Roger’s role involves day-to-day management of the research and teaching programme by providing support to team members; liaising with consortium partners and funders on administrative, financial and contractual issues; organising conferences, workshops and meetings; and supporting the Programme Leader on proposals for new research projects.

Previously he worked for the Audit Commission and Local Government Association managing programmes of research to help shape policymakers, and inform improvements in local public services.  His early career was managing a programme of research for Anchor Trust - the leading provider of housing and care for older people.
