Bhawana is a Researcher with the Food Systems Transformation Group at the Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford. A geographer by training and a systems thinker at heart, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to addressing complex challenges in sustainable environmental systems. Her work focuses on integrating stakeholder engagement and foresight analysis to drive long-term, impactful solutions.
Bhawana currently is contributing to the research and learning agenda for the Foresight4Food Initiative, where she is developing a framework to link foresight methods and tools with policy cycle stages. Her previous experience includes contributing to the Oxford Martin Agile Programme, where she investigated nutrient flows in organic waste streams to identify opportunities for nutrient circularity in Leicestershire County. At Cardiff University's Welsh School of Architecture, she worked on a portfolio of projects focused on assessing the impact of energy-efficient retrofits on social housing and decarbonising energy systems in the UK.
Bhawana holds a PhD from the University of Dundee, where her research explored Water-Energy-Food Nexus dynamics, examining interdependencies between natural resources and policy interventions using analytical tools.
