Yuiko Ichikawa is a researcher in meteorology, currently working on the ExtAnt (Drivers and Impacts of Extreme Weather Events in Antarctica) project at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on understanding extreme weather events in Antarctica, their links to climate change, and the impacts of such extremes on the Antarctic ice sheet. She is also a visiting researcher at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP), University of Cambridge.
Prior to joining the ECI, she worked as a weather model developer at the Japan Meteorological Agency, contributing to the development of state-of-the-art numerical weather prediction systems as well as international technical assistance programmes.
