Pengxiao Zhou is a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford, where he investigates the impacts of climate change on wastewater infrastructure. Prior to joining Oxford, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University and received his PhD in Civil Engineering from McMaster University.
His research combines data-driven modelling, life cycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, and uncertainty quantification to understand how water and wastewater systems can remain environmentally and economically sustainable under climate change and technological transition. His interests include climate impacts on water and wastewater infrastructure, greenhouse gas mitigation, resource recovery, and emerging wastewater technologies. He is passionate about understanding the interactions between water, energy, and carbon, and developing systems-based approaches to support resilient and sustainable infrastructure planning.
