ECI expertise at the heart of Oxford Net Zero’s five-year Showcase

Oxford Net Zero is an interdisciplinary research initiative based at the University of Oxford. Researchers sit across ten Departments of the University, including Law, Physics, Biology, Earth Sciences, Anthropology and Geography. As an academic research programme, the collaborative unit produces high-quality, peer-reviewed research, and leverage that work to provide advice and expertise to policymakers, global industry leaders and international organisations in the global race to net zero. Their recent five-year Showcase event highlighted the depth and breadth of research across the University.  

ECI’s Climate Lead, Professor Myles Allen, who is also the Founding Director of Oxford Net Zero, reflected on the programme’s mission: “The meaning of net zero and how to get it right.” His leadership exemplifies how ECI expertise is embedded within the interdisciplinary research initiative, ensuring that rigorous climate science informs interdisciplinary research and practical solutions.
