Mapping the UK food system

Our report quantified the UK food system as a foundation for further analyses, drawing together data sources, documents, research articles together with interviews with UK food governance stakeholders.

FoodSIVI was an initiative between academia, industry and civil society to create a standard for true cost accounting in order to accelerate food system transformation.

Connecting local knowledge with global food systems

This research initiative focuses on the future of small-scale agriculture in the global food system. Combining insight from leading global expertise with strategic dialogue processes in Africa, it deepened understanding and debate about the transformation of small-holder agriculture.

TRANSMANGO

TRANSMANGO focuses on the vulnerability and resilience of European food systems in the context of socio-economic, behavioural, technological, institutional and agro-ecological change, and aimed to enhance understanding of the new challenges and opportunities that the food sector will face in the future.

SUSFANS: Metrics, models and foresight for European sustainable food and nutrition security

SUSFANS built a conceptual framework, evidence base and analytical tools to underpin EU-wide food policies on consumer diet and the implications for nutrition and public health. It also explored the competitiveness of EU agri-food sectors, and global food and nutrition security.

WEFWEB: Mapping the water-energy-food nexus at multiple scales and across sectors

WEFWEB explores the challenges of understanding and identifying the dynamic, interlinked interdependencies across the physical, social and political, ecological and digital nexus networks at multiple, nested scales and temporally.

Zero Hunger Zero Emissions

The Zero Hunger – Zero Emissions Project set out to explore how societies can engage in difficult yet inclusive debates around achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and 13 (Climate Action).
