Profile

Karsten Haustein is a Short-term Research Associate at the Environmental Change Institute.

Previously, Karsten was a postdoctoral researcher at the ECI working on the World Weather Attribution project, developing the capability to perform quasi-real time attribution analysis of extreme weather events around the world on an operational basis. Prior to this he worked at the Oxford University School of Geography and Environment as a postdoctoral researcher, working with Prof. Richard Washington. He completed his Ph.D. at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, developing a new global and regional model for the prediction of the mineral dust.
