Dr Bhawana Gupta is a Post-Doctoral Researcher with Agile Sprint 2 project within Food Systems Group at Environmental Change Institute. She will be leading the stakeholder engagement work in WP1 which will build the understanding of new business opportunities and existing smaller enterprises that can potentially enhance nutrient recovery along the organic waste streams, taking Leicestershire County as a case study.
She studied Water-Energy-Food nexus dynamics for her PhD at the University of Dundee. For her PhD research, she collaborated with multiple research organisations and engaged with public and government stakeholders for understanding the trade-offs between agriculture, energy production and water resource development sectors in South India. She employed quantitative methods to analyse the WEF nexus stocks and flows and assessed the significance of socio-economic and natural drivers that influences WEF resource consumption patterns across the study area at the local and regional scales. Her research experience and interests are in understanding the interlinks between resource consumption behaviours, policies and the physical environment. After submitting her thesis, Bhawana started working as a Research Assistant at Cardiff University on the Social Housing Research on Energy from Welsh Data project. Her role was focused on collecting and managing energy and building data from Social landlords and their tenants by conducting workshops and surveys. She also worked on stakeholder engagement strategy and participant recruitment strategy.
