MSc Environmental Change and Management: Scholarships

Students on the MSc Environmental Change and Management course have received over 240 scholarships since we began teaching in 1994. Over 70% of our students receive full or partial support to help fund their studies. A limited number of scholarships are available through the ECI, details of which are given below. Many other scholarships are sought independently by students, often from their own countries.

Scholarships awarded to our students since 1994.

Scholarships administered by the ECI

The scholarships listed below are administered by the ECI and, in some cases, named colleges. Unless stated otherwise, there are no application forms for these scholarships. Applicants should make clear on their standard university application form that they are interested in being considered for the scholarships by mentioning the scholarship(s) in the "funding information" section of the Oxford University Application Form. Decisions regarding scholarships are made in consultation with the colleges after offers of places on the MSc have been made, generally in April and May. Students may be invited to move from their selected college to take up a scholarship at another college.

The ECI does not deal with applications for international scholarships, these should be made directly to the funding organisation.

International Scholarships

We also receive two scholarships for students from central and eastern Europe under the OSI/FCO Chevening scheme. Details are in the Graduate Studies Prospectus, but note that the deadline for applications is usually in November each year and should be made directly to the local OSI/Soros Foundation office.

It should be noted that the majority of students on the MSc course successfully compete for International Scholarships, details of which are in the Graduate Studies Prospectus. These scholarships (such as Rhodes, Marshall , British Chevening and Shell) are not specific to our course and deadlines for application are varied and early.

The University of Oxford awards about 100 Clarendon Bursaries for postgraduate students in any subject. These are extremely competitive awards. Over 30 MSc applicants usually apply for Clarendon Bursaries but only a few, if any, will be awarded to our students.
