MSc Environmental Change and Management: Related MSc Courses

School of Geography and the Environment (SoGE) International Graduate School
The SoGE International Graduate School is one of the largest concentrations of graduate students in geography and environmental studies in the UK, consisting of some 120 students studying one of SoGE's four taught Masters courses, including the MSc Environmental Change and Management.

MSc Biology (Integrative Bioscience)
This course is administered by the Department of Zoology and is one of the Biotechnology and Biological Science Research Council's most prestigious Research Master's degrees.The Council funds ten student grants each year. It lasts for one year and its five options include ecology and conservation of biodiversity, ornithology, animal behaviour and mathematical biology. Students also undertake a Professional Development Programme, two 12-week research projects and taught courses in scientific research skills.

This two-year interdisciplinary course, run by Queen Elizabeth House, aims to give a thorough education in development encompassing economics, anthropology, politics and history. Running throughout the two years of the course is an inter- and multi-disciplinary core comprising i) theories and explanations of social change; ii) major interdisciplinary themes in development; iii) policy areas such as human resource provision, sectoral change, social welfare and urbanization; iv) international dimensions of development.

This one-year course is administered by the Department of Economics for students who wish to specialize in the economics of developing countries. Queen Elizabeth House and the Centre for the Study of African Economies also play an integral role.The paper on Development Economics include an optional portion on Environment and Development. A two year MSc option is also available for students requiring a one year foundation course on economic principles and statistical methods.

This one-year course aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the nature of global, political, social and economic change through the multidisciplinary study of forced migration as well as the particular claims and needs of different groups of forced migrants.
