DPhil Topic:

The impact of renewable energy sources on future UK electricity supply

Graham completed his Doctoral studies in 2007 and is no longer based at the ECI.

Graham's interest in energy and carbon policy centres on the long term availability, reliability and security of supply issues associated with renewable energy systems, particularly in relation to the future development of wind, wave and tidal stream energy resources. Graham's research investigates the long-term characteristics of these resources, their relationship with electricity demand, and the opportunities available for integrating these resources into larger electricity networks.

Graham has previously led research into energy efficiency (UK), worked in environmental policy and environmental science for the EPA (Australia), and development finance with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Nepal. Graham is currently based at the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford University, with his research supported by the Department of Economics at Cambridge University - Graham holds a public position with the Department of Trade and Industy's Renewables Advisory Board, and he advises a range of government and private groups in the UK on renewables and energy policy.
