TippingPoint Event

TippingPoint 2006

Following on from 'Climate and Art: an encounter between scientists and artists' in 2005, in Sep 2006 the ECI hosted "TippingPoint", to further explore climate change between the scientific and artistic communities.

The two day event took place on the 3rd - 4th September in Oxford University's Sheldonian Theatre and Trinity College, and was attended by over 100 eminent scientists and artists.

Event Aims

  • To create links between individuals in artistic and scientific communities;
  • To engage with opinion-formers who may not yet be fully aware of the implications of climate change;
  • To generate debate centred on scientific information on climate change;
  • To discuss how the arts can best engage a wider audience with these issues;
  • To define potential future collaborations, actions and programmes.
