ClimateXchange and Oxfordshire United

ClimateX

Oxfordshire ClimateXchange is working with many local partners to engage and excite communities, organisations, and individuals in Oxfordshire's response to its climate and environmental future. Over 200 events since 1996 have engaged over 16,000 people, from kitchen tables to executive boardrooms, from classrooms to village halls, from church pews to Oxford Utd FC's stadium.

Oxford Utd ("how would football save the planet?") is exploring the potential for sport to enthuse new audiences in the environmental challenge. In particular we are looking at how the "sports psyche" and sports language can frame the environmental challenge in ways largely unexplored by green messaging to date. ECI is working locally with Oxford Utd FC and also nationally and internationally with other sports/environment initiatives.
