Michael is Knowledge and Communications Officer in the Food Group at the Environmental Change Institute. Primarily Michael is involved in developing and implementing communications, knowledge exchange and impact plans across two programmes: the Innovative Food Systems Teaching And Learning (IFSTAL) programme and the Global Food Security Programme on the Resilience of the UK Food System. In addition to his role at ECI, Michael is the coordinator of the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Food.
Prior to joining the University of Oxford in February 2017, Michael worked in communications roles for the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, New Phytologist, a scholarly plant science journal, and CIHE, a business-HE leadership network. Michael also holds a PhD in Plant Science from the University of Bristol.
