Profile

Geoff Lye is the Vice Chair for SustainAbility, a strategy consultancy and independent think tank specialising in the business risks and market opportunities of corporate responsibility and sustainable development. His main areas of expertise are corporate engagement of the Triple Bottom Line agenda linking economic, environmental and social accountability; executive board level reviews of Corporate Responsibility issues; development of Corporate Responsibility programmes with particular reference to the alignment of values and behaviours; routes to building trust in stakeholder relations; and the development of and advice on corporate Climate Change strategies. Clients include Shell, The Ford Motor Company and Swiss Re.

He was the lead author of SustainAbility's groundbreaking report, The Changing Landscape of Liability, which assesses how new forms of social, environmental and economic liability demand a new approach to strategic risk management. His latest research explores how Corporate Economic Responsibility is set to shift whole sectors to new models of business which will require companies to develop and deliver active responses to the major challenges of the 21st century – from Climate Change to the Millennium Development Goals.
