Ben Kidd

Ben Kidd joined the ECI in August 2011 to take on the role of Programme Manager of the Infrastructure Transitions Research Consortium (ITRC).
Ben has studied Mathematics and its Applications at Cardiff University and holds a Masters degree in Geoenvironmental Engineering, also from Cardiff University. Ben has over 5 years subsequent industry experience working in environmental engineering consultancy and for the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA). His particular research interests include flood risk management and climate change adaptation for the built environment and infrastructure, as well as infrastructure resilience and civil contingency planning. While at CIRIA, Ben set up and managed the Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network (MBE KTN) "Infrastructure Programme", a collaborative initiative involving the Technology Strategy Board and EPSRC to maximise the commercial impact of infrastructure-related research and innovation.
Ben is also Vice Chair of the South East Steering Group for the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
