Profile

Giacomo Celi is a visiting researcher within the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford. He has a degree in Tropical and Sub-tropical Agricultural Sciences at the University of Florence. He has a MSc in Food Quality Management from the Wageningen University.

He currently works as a green coffee expert at illycaffè spa, an Italian coffee roaster specialized in high quality coffee. He is developing a new corporate sustainability approach for the coffee sector.

He has several years of field experience in tropical farms, especially in coffee farms.

Research Interests

Giacomo is interested in sustainable food chains and sustainable agro-ecosystems.

His research project is about Sustainable coffee growing with a supply chain perspective. He will be working for this research in coffee areas in India, Brazil and Guatemala.

He would like to promote a Group of people interested in Sustainable Food Chains.
