Profile

I am a PhD candidate in the RESOLVE group at Surrey University where I am studying the UK music industry's response to climate change. My PhD research is a continuation of The First Step report I did as a researcher at Environmental Change Institute to indicatively scope the greenhouse gas emissions of the UK music industry across the recorded and live performance sectors. First Step was done on behalf of Julie's Bicycle, a non-profit organisation set-up by music industry leaders, to develop strategic and practical responses for the UK music industry to tackle climate change.

I was a member of the Lower Carbon Futures group for 4 years where my research interests focused on: personal carbon trading (also referred to as personal carbon allowances); personal and business energy management software; community waste management strategies; and Internet tools for education for sustainable development.

I continue to work with the Lower Carbon Futures team in the development of personal and business energy management software.

I have a Masters in Environmental Management from Yale University (USA) and a BSc in Geography from St. Andrews University (UK). I have done environmental research in the USA, India and Pakistan.
