Environment and Science Communication
Communicating environmental research is central to the role of the ECI at Oxford University. Some specific examples of our environment and society communication initiatives include:
- Climate Change: a scientific briefing for artists - A one day briefing held in June 2007 for over 70 eminent artists
- Climate-X-Change - A campaign to take climate change issues into the community in Oxfordshire.
- A pioneering new website integrating global environmental understanding with local actions - www.ch4.org.uk
- An innovative website for social learning - Changing Climate. Selected articles from this project can be accessed from www.ch4.org.uk
- Environmental Science and Policy, edited by the ECI, is published by Elsevier
- Oxford Environment liaison group that brings together Oxford's expertise in research and teaching
- Events that promote public and media engagement with environment science
- Stakeholder-led research at the UKCIP
- Providing news and expert input to the press and broadcast media
- Environmental education, and science and society teaching to MSc students
- Lifelong learning with Oxford University's Department for Continuing Education
